The Homestead offers you a stylish breakaway into the tranquil Botriver Valley; newly renovated and refurbished, this large self-catering family home is the perfect spot to unwind or enjoy outdoor farm activities. Surrounded by protected Renosterveld and our animals, enjoy the spectacular sounds of lions, hyenas, cheetahs, ostriches, foxes, wolves, peacocks, nightjars, and our resident Emerald Cuckoo and Yellow-billed Kite. From swimming in your private pool and wine-tasting nearby to fishing in our farm dam, there truly is something for everyone!

THE HOMESTEAD (MAIN HOUSE): SLEEPS 10.

DOWNSTAIRS:

  • 1 main bedroom with a double bed, en-suite bathroom (toilet & shower), and a private garden. 

  • 2 bedrooms with double beds, and 1 shared bathroom (toilet, shower & bath).

 

UPSTAIRS:

  • 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each.

  • 1 shared bathroom (toilet & shower).

ADDITIONAL OUTSIDE BEDROOM: SLEEPS 2.

*The outside bedroom can be arranged for an additional R800 per night.

THE HOMESTEAD​:

  • Large lounge with fireplace: we supply 30 pieces of firewood and firelighters are supplied, with additional wood available to purchase. Cornellskop is committed to supporting local businesses in every way possible: our firewood comes from alien trees which we buy from the next-door farm's staff.

  • Large dining room

  • Farmhouse kitchen with fireplace, Smeg oven, dishwasher, microwave, cutlery, crockery, cooking equipment, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, and pepper. 

  • Wifi

  • Large outdoor patio with all-weather braai area

  • Covered verandah

ACTIVITIES AT CORNELLSKOP:

  • Swim in our large farm dam with three jetties... so you will always have your own space for swimming. Please note that swimming is at your own risk.

  • Fish for Tilapia in our main dam during the Summer months. We kindly request that guests please bring their own rods and tackle. Please note that this is a catch-and-release fishing spot. 

  • Indulge in some relaxation.

  • Cornellskop animal encounters and farm tours (to be arranged prior to arrival). In-house guests receive a discounted rate on animal encounters.

  • Access the river at the front of our farm. 

  • Enjoy a + - 3km hike through the Renosterveld on the farm.

  • Picnic in the Renosterveld in one of our picnic areas.  

  • Mountain biking (please see the 'RESOURCES' page for links to the relevant mountain biking spots). 

  • Play on your private jungle gym or in The Homestead's large fenced garden.

  • Visit a nearby wine farm or restaurant: we recommend Manny's Kitchen, Zest Deli at Beaumont Wine Farm, Wildekrans Wine Estate & Restaurant, Luddite Wines, the Shunting Shed, and the Botriver Hotel... to name a few!
